Hi! My name is Christina. I am a sophomore majoring in Hospitality and Tourism here at Buffalo State.
I am entralled with the Lord of the Rings. I have been a huge fan for as long as I can remember. My Dad really got me involved and around sixth or seventh grade I began to read the epic tale for the first time. I enjoyed Tolkein and his works so much that I even talked my little sister into experiencing them with me!
In class I would most enjoy discussing first would be the differences and similarities between the novels and movies. I know we already planned to do this but that is the type of activity I have always enjoyed in my classed. I love to hear what others noticed that I didn’t and vice versa. I have a particularly strong view on how The Return of the King film ended. I was rather disappointed. As Professor fish mentioned, many people see Sam as the hero. Well I feel that the destruction and rebirth of the Shire is what makes Sam a hero.
I would love to learn more about the life of Tolkein. For claiming to be such a fan of his work, I know very little about him as a person
Harry Potter… love it! My whole family is very into the Harry Potter phenomenon. I was the first to read the novels and after I read them I read them aloud to my little sister at night (she was too little to read them herself!). After a few years we talked our parents into reading them and now they are more fanatical than we are!
At the suggestion of Prof. Fish here is a link to my Facebook - feel free to friend request me!
