I am sophmore who is soon to be an Art education major and I’m looking into a double major in art history. I’m hoping one day to become an elementary art teacher or, better yet, a curator or education coordinator at a museum. Possibly an eventual phd in art history, focusing on the Renaissance, who knows, maybe I’ll get interviewed by the history channal or be asked to consult at the Luvre.

My father is a big Lord of the Rings fan. I read the trilogy in middle school and saw all three movies when they came out. Once the first movie came out I was very interested about the rest of them. I find the movies a more enjoyable then the books since they are faster paced and I tend to enjoy novels that move a little faster along then the Trilogy does. I am interested in discussing how some folklore from around the world as well as his personal experiences may have influenced Tolkien when writing the books as well as the cultural impact the books have made particularly with today’s generation.

I enjoyed the Harry Potter series. It has some fond memories attached to it since the first one came out when I was young and my mom would read it to me and my brothers. As the characters grew, so did my brothers and I. Though I hate to admit that I have not gotten to the last two books. Yes, I know Dumbledore dies. It’s on my long long list of books to read which, unfortunately, is not getting any shorter.
