Topic: Who is the Main Protagonist of the Lord of the Rings
Thesis: Although many readers believe that the main protagonist of ‘The Lord of the Rings” is Frodo Baggins, after a detailed examination of what Tolkien has written, it seems that the main protagonist is actually Aragorn or Samwise Gamgee.
Introduction:
J.R.R. Tolkien’s epic saga, “The Lord of the Rings” is one of the greatest works of the 20th century. It is over 1,000 pages long and contains many complicated and highly developed characters and a very complex plot with great themes. There are many examples of characters evolving throughout the novel and many of the characters become great heroes at the novel’s conclusion. With so many heroes and such a detail focus on them, a problem arises for the reader, which is who actually is the main protagonist of “The Lord of the Rings”. Although some will quickly point out that the protagonist is obviously Frodo Baggins, if we take a closer look at the novel, it would seem the answer is not so clear cut. Some of the chapters of the novel follow the point of view of Aragorn or Sam. Although many readers believe that the main protagonist of ‘The Lord of the Rings” is Frodo Baggins, after a detailed examination of what Tolkien has written, it seems that the main protagonist is actually Aragorn or Samwise Gamgee.

Conclusion:
I will just sum up everything that I stated in my paper. I will also probably mention the fact that tolkien was not a regular author and therefore it is feesable to believe that Sam is the protagonist.
